چکیده

According to Socrates, as he is described in Plato?s Phaedo, the definition of a true philosopher wise man who continuously practicing dying and being dead. Already this life, tries free his soul from body order acquire knowledge progressively becoming detached body. Centuries after it was written, Phaedo continued play role for some early Christian authors, article focuses on three instances where women mirror Socrates and/or philosophy. We find these hagiographical literature fourth fifth centuries at different locations Roman Empire - Lives Macrina, Marcella Syncletica. These texts are all varying degrees impacted by Platonic philosophy ideal male Socrates. As mastering philosophy, they widened common cultural expectations women, revealing how authors certain contexts ascribed authority female figures.
